Why A Caravan Is Ideal For Your Half-Term Holidays
With half-term coming up, many will be hoping the unusually warm October weather continues as they look forward to getting away for a week, although not many people will be saying such things up in rain-soaked Scotland.
For all the talk of climate change and La Nina weather systems, the fact remains that by late October it will be a bit colder and a lot darker. Holidays in the UK will not be about sitting on the lawn in your summer clothes on a light, sunny evening.
Nonetheless, there is a lot of fun to be had and there are very good reasons why you should be getting more supplies for your caravan instead of seeking alternative forms of accommodation.
As the weather cools, this is not a month many people will want to be in a tent. But other forms of holiday home could be problematic too. For example, some holiday homes have issues with damp and mould, a problem that can get worse when it is cold because the windows are closed and moisture cannot escape without good ventilation.
This is just one of the ways in which you can book a holiday somewhere and find it is “not what was in the brochure”, and while you may be able to get some sort of redress in some cases, often you have to fight for it while the holiday firm seeks to fob you off with a minor offer like a future discount.
It’s the sort of drama you just don’t want on holiday. This is meant to be a fun time, a nice break from work and school. But with your trusty caravan providing a familiar, clean and dry environment that you’ve been looking after yourself, you can be sure you won’t end up with a holiday you don’t forget for all the wrong reasons.
